Dyana Mason, Richmond
Dyana Mason is the Executive Director of Equality Virginia, the state’s leading gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender education and advocacy organization, based in Richmond. Prior to joining Equality Virginia in 2003, Mason was the Southern Field Organizer and Membership Organizer for the Washington-DC Based Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest gay rights organization. Originally from California, she is a 1993 graduate of the University of Southern California and was also a member of the 2005 Political Leaders Program at the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia. She was appointed to the Council by Governor Mark R. Warner in 2005.
